More About Eanur

Md. Eanur Hossain is a Bangladesh-based journalist and documentary filmmaker with over eight years of experience in journalism, visual storytelling, and documentary production. His work focuses on people, culture, wildlife, biodiversity, and the environmental challenges shaping Bangladesh.

He currently works as a freelance visual journalist and documentary filmmaker, collaborating with international media organisations, including AFP, DW Bangla, France Télévisions, Southern Era Network, and others. His work spans field reporting, research, story development, cinematography, interviews, and documentary production.

Previously, Eanur worked at Prothom Alo, Bangladesh’s leading Bengali-language newspaper and one of the country’s major digital news organisations, for more than four years. During this time, he produced over 1,200 multimedia stories covering politics, current affairs, environmental issues, wildlife, climate change, and human-interest stories. His responsibilities included researching, scripting, filming, editing, and publishing stories that reached audiences across digital platforms.

Earlier in his career, he worked as a mobile journalist at Ekattor TV, one of Bangladesh’s leading television news channels, and as a correspondent at DrikNEWS, producing stories published by DW Bangla. His journalism journey began at ULAB TV, Bangladesh’s first campus-based television station, where he served as Station Manager and gained experience in reporting, cinematography, editing, production management, and newsroom operations.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Media Studies and Journalism from the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB).

His work has taken him across Bangladesh, from coastal communities and remote islands to forests, wetlands, and rural landscapes. He has visited 50 of the country’s 64 districts and summited four of its five highest peaks. These journeys have deepened his understanding of Bangladesh’s diverse communities, cultural heritage, landscapes, and environmental challenges.

His professional interests include environmental journalism, wildlife filmmaking, biodiversity conservation, marine ecosystems, climate change, archaeology, tourism, the Chittagong Hill Tracts, and rural Bangladesh. Through documentary filmmaking and visual journalism, he seeks to document overlooked stories, amplify underrepresented voices, and explore the complex relationship between people and the natural world.

He believes powerful visual storytelling can deepen public understanding, bring attention to critical issues, and inspire meaningful conversations about the future of people and the planet.

My Experience

I work as a Video & Multimedia Journalist, Field Producer, and Fixer, collaborating with international media organizations, including Agence France-Presse (AFP), France Télévisions, and others. I produce visual stories, documentaries, and multimedia reports on environment, climate change, biodiversity, labor rights, politics, and current affairs.

My work spans the entire production process—from story development, research, and field reporting to filming, interviews, fact-checking, production coordination, and logistics. I support international reporting teams in delivering accurate, compelling, and visually engaging journalism from across Bangladesh.

Content Creator
2021 - 2025

I worked at Prothom Alo as a ‘Content Creator’, actively involved in both field and desk-based production. I handle research, scripting, filming, and editing—both independently and as part of a team. So far, I have produced over 1,000 stories. Much of my work focuses on environment, wildlife, human, heritage, and travel, aiming to build a deeper connection between people and nature through real, field-based storytelling.

In addition, I also worked as a Local News Coordinator.

I achieved the best award in the intra-office writing competition in 2022.

Correspondent
2019 - 2021

I have produced digital stories for Drik News as a ‘Content Creator’. Due to an agreement between Drik and DW Bangla, 10 of my stories have been published on DW Bangla’s website and Facebook page.

Mobile Journalist
2018 - 2020

I worked as a Mobile Journalist at Ekattor Television. On July 5, 2018, I participated in a day-long workshop under the Pran-Prokriti program, after which I began my journey there.

I traveled to places such as the Sundarbans and Saint Martin’s Island for news assignments. Through these field trips, I gained hands-on, practical experience in reporting.

Station Manager
2017 - 2021

I finished my journey with ULAB TV, the first campus-based television station, as a Station Manager in April 2020. Prior to that, I worked there as a news reporter alongside my studies. I produced around 30 stories and arranged more than 250 workshops and sessions for ULAB TV.

I achieved four awards as the best producer on different occasions and three of these for the best digital stories.

My Education

2016-2021

I studied in the Department of Media Studies and Journalism, majoring in Business Journalism with a minor in Sustainable Development.

This background strengthened my foundation in ethical reporting, research, and multimedia storytelling, along with a clear understanding of sustainability and development perspectives.
